The dolphins post is back! Yay!!

Bye!
Sorry for the typos in the my last real post. Forgot to read it through.

And by the way. I've noticed that my post about the dolphins has disappeared. I don't now how bytes it's gone. I really hope you've already read that post. I'll look if I can get it back

Home sweet home!

Hi!
Like I said in Wednesday we went up at 3am to get to the airport in Christchurch. 3am is very early, and we didn't sleep that much. We where fighting about the blanket all night. But when Tove and I are that tired we just laugh at everything, so we did fine.

When we arrived to Tokyo after like 11 hours on the flight we took a 2  hours bus tour to our really big hotel. It had 25 floors. Tokyo is very big! You had no idea where you were. It looked the same everywhere.

The next day we went up still kind of early so we'd have a full day in the big city. The breakfast where really good, but a little weird. We got cournsoup for breakfast. It was a bit, special.
Then we took a taxi to the main shopping street in the area. We walked around there most of the day. We shopped some chlothes and sucked in the atomsphere.

For lunch we wanted to eat sushi. And ofcourse you think it should be really easy finding a sushiresturant in Tokyo... It's not. In the whole area we walked around in there where one sushiresturant. One! We thought it would be sushiresturants around every courner.
But it was deffenitly worth the time searching for the sushiresturant. It was amazing. Another life experience.

At the restaurant there was a sushi train (a train with lots of different sushies going around the resturant) you just took a plate of the train and ate it. The sushi where lying on different kind of plates. Different plates where worth a different sum of money. So the peaple working at the restaurant counted the plates to see how much you needed to pay.
The food was really yummy but best of all where the sushi chefs. While they where making sushi they where screaming things in Japanese to each other. It was really funny. I loved it.

After at day in the city we went back to the hotel packing ones again for the flight home.
We came home at Friday evening after a really though flight, we where really tired. It's good to be home tho. Hanging out with my friends and my family. I've missed them. I'm kind of exited for school tomorrow, seeing everybody.

This is my last post. It's been really fun a and I've learned a lot having this blog. I really hope you're enjoyed reading about my journey. Have a good day! Bye!

The last night

Hello!
Yesterday we drove from Hamner Springs to Christchurch. It wasn't a long drive so we got to the motel around 2pm. When we'd been doing homework for a few hours we walked down the street to get some dinner. We ended up in a Chinese restaurant. The food was okey but I had to eat with sticks, I suck eating with sticks. But it went kind of okey if you compare with the last time... It ended up with the women on the table next to us asking the waitres if I could get a fork.

When we got back to the motel we looked at a good movie (I can't remember the name, it was something with "tower" in it) and some YouTube clips. We have good wifi here. Then we went to bed.

Today on the afternoon we went shopping. We didn't actually buy something special. Tove bought a phone case, her mom a citrus press something and I finally got my book, jippey! Finding my book made my day.

Now we are at the model after a really yummy dinner, packing and preparing for our journey to Japan tomorrow. It's going to be really cool seeing Tokyo, even if where just there for 2 nights. I'm
Looking forwards to it.

Tomorrow we need to get up around 3am so I should probably go to sleep soon. Bye!

Hi!
Yesterday we drove from Westport to where we are now, Hanmer Springs. It wasn't a long drive but I'm so tired of sitting in the car now. The car seats in the camper van is really  uncomfortable. It felt like we where driving all day but it was like 3 hours. When we came to Hanmer Springs we just did some homework, ate some dinner, looked at a movie and then went to bed.

Today I didn't have to wake up at 9am, Yay! I like to sleep. When I was finished sleeping and we'd eaten some breakfast we walked into town to enjoy the springs. It was really nice having one day without driving. When we where done bathing we went for lunch. We got really big hamburgers, they where really good.

I really like Hanmer Springs, it's just really nice here. Almost all the houses look like the houses we have in skiing slopes at home, they look new, fresh and have really big windows. I like those houses.

Tonight is the last night in the camper van. Tomorrow we'll drive back to Christchurch, leave the camper van and then live at a motel for two nights before we start our journey back home. The time goes by so fast. I can't believe it was almost a month ago we started our trip. But I kind of miss home by now so it's not just sad we're leaving New Zealand.

Now I need to finish backing. Bye!

Waterfalls and Cave watching

Hi!
So on Wednesday we drow to one of the biggest national park in New Zealand, the Wainui Falls. It was like a 40 minute walk in the jungle beside the waterfalls. It was really beautiful and I enjoyed it a lot. Except from the sandflys. I've got bites all over my feet now. It iches and are really annoying. But except from that it was a really good walk.
After that we spend the night in Collinwood.

Yesturday we where just drivning all day. Like 8 hours drivning. And when we got to Murchinson we did homework. A really boring day acually. But the day atleast ended well by watching one of my favorite movies, Safe Haven.

Today we drow to Charlestown for some cave watching. We walked in the jungle until we came to the cave entrance. We putted on our really cute yellow helmets and turned the lights on before we walked in to the cave.
The cave was huge. It was really cool, there where stalactites and stalactmites everywhere. All in different sizes and different shapes.

When we'd walked to the other side of the cave there where a big entrance and you saw right out in the jungle. The sun where shining into the cave and you saw the reflections in the water. Then there where a waterfall right from the sealing. It was just the most beautiful thing ever. I wish you could see it. It was hard to get good pictures of it so I can't really show it to you. You have to see it for yourself to understand how amazing it is, like with the dolphins. You can't really describe it.

After that we went into the cave again, to the glow worms. That was also really, really beautiful. We turned of out lights and it was like you where looking at galaxies. Like a million stars right above you. It was truly amazing. It's littrely mind blowing, out of this world beutiful. But the glow worms where almost impossible to take pictures of. I have pictures of them in my head, but it's just sad you can't see them.

After that we went back out of the cave, and drow to Westport where we are now. It was a great day.

Now I need to try doing  some homework. Bye!

Hey!

So on sunday we went to see the seal colony. It wasn't much of a colony, we saw two seals. But the two seals we saw was really cute. We named them Stefan and Inge. They where lying on the rocks sleeping when we where there but I find them kind of interesting anyway.

It was a very beautiful view from the spot where the seal "colony" was. I know I say it's beautiful views everywhere, but it really are beautiful views everywhere. from the seal "colony" there was a view over rocks, the ocean, seals, sea birds and foggy mountains. All together it was so amazing.

Yesterday we went up at 4am to swim with the dusky dolphins. I was really tired but also really happy. I've wanted this for as long as I can remember. We went in  to town and got ready. we tried and butted on wetsuits, it was kind of hard. they sit very tightly.

On the ocean it was kind of wavy, but i don't mind. I usually don't get seasick. And I didn't this time either. when we spotted the first dolphin, suddenly they where everywhere, and not long after that we jumped in the water.

Right before we jumped in the water I was so exited and nervous I was literally shaking. But when I got in the water and saw all the dolphins I got calm.
It was so beautiful and amazing. They swimmed right beside you, like really really close. To get their attention you maked sounds through youre snorkel. When they came close to you they swimmed around you in a circle. If you keept up to them and always had  eye contact  all the time they made it to a game and started to swim around you faster and faster until you couldn't keep up. Then they got bored and swam away. If you looked over the water you saw them jumping and flipping. It was so cool. I'm amazed. I can't even describe it.

When we repitetly done all that four times it was time to go back. At first they drived ow so you would get a change to take some good photos of the dusky dolphins. I didn't take any photos. I was so tired and Toves mum had already taken some photos. So I just switched back to my chlots and enjoyed the view.

When we got back we went straight to the camper van and slept for a couple of hours. I was so tired but very very happy. I still can't get the smile of my face.

After our nap we drow to a very small town named havelock where we spend the night. Now we've arrived to a big camping site in Nelson, and we got some wifi.

I'll try to update as soon as I can. Bye!

Hello!!
We're still here on the peketa camping in Kaikoura (I know I said it was named teketa in my last post but it's actually named peketa). We where supposed to leave today, but before we leave we have to swim with dolphins, and all tours where booked until tomorrow. But tomorrow when we've swimmed with the dolphins we're going to Nelson.

I've always wanted to swim with dolphins so I'm so exited for tomorrow. I really hope it's going to be a success. It will be an amazing life experience. And it's going to be beautiful, I hope. We're going on the first tour in the morning (half past 5am) so we'll have to get up around 4am. But it's definitely going to be worth it. I can't wait!

Yesterday we wen't in to town to book the dolphine tour. When the tour was booked we ate lunch and then walked around in the town. (The book was sold out in this town too...) it was a bit cold but except from that a really nice day.

Today i've been drawing the New Zealand landscape for my homework. It didn't end up so good. After that we ate some very yummy fruits. Pineapple, watermelon and apple. I like fruits.

Soon we're going in to town again to look at a seal colony. Maybe we'll see Kurt. Or at least some of his friends. I look forwards to it. Seals are so cute :)

Hope you're having a good night sleep at home. Bye! Bye!

Hey!
Now we're back in Kaikoura where I wrote you last time. I'm going to tell you what happened since then.

We drived from Kaikoura to Christchurch, there we picked up the camper van. It's big so Toves mum think it's scary to drive it with the lefthand traffic and all but she managed to do it just fine, so that's good. I like the camper, except from one thing. It's really noise when you drive it.

We drived to a camping site about 20 minutes from Christchurch named Woodend, or as the New Zealand people announce it "woodind". It was really nice and we stayed there for two nights. It was like you knew all the people on the camping. Everybody said "Hi" and smiled at you when you walked by.

Yesterday it was very windy but really, really hot. At least 30 degrees outside. When it was a bit cooler we went't for a walk on the beach. It was really big waves so we couldn't swim. But we got pretty wet anyway when we where running in the water. It was really beautiful and we had a great time.

Today I  bought a book. Not the one I wanted, just so I have something to read until we'll find it. This book is called "the book thief" it seems to be a good book as well.

Now we've just arrived near Kaikoura again on a camping site named "teketa beach holiday park" or something like that. It's really windy and rain in the air so it's really cozy sitting in the camper van. Now we're going to eat some food and then we're going to watch a movie.

Hope you're all good. I surely am. Bye!

Oh! And I forgot to mention this and this is important and I really have to tell you about Kurt.

Kurt is a seal. We met him when we where driving right by the sea and stopped to look at the waves. He was just lying there chilling on a rock. He was really nice.

If you want to see pictures of him. Check out mine and Toves Swedish blog or our Instagram account "amonthinnz"

Just thought you should know about him. Bye!
Hi!
I don't have much time to write this post. Soon we're going to pic up the camper in Christ Church. We probably won't have any wifi in a while. I'm going to try to write you as much as I can.

Yesterday we took the ferry from Wellington to Picton. It took about 3 hours. In Picton we wanted to swim in the ocean, so we put our swimminsuits on and walked to the beach. On out way to the beach we saw two sting rocks. So we where scared that if we would get in the water a stingrock would sting us. There where no other people swimming so it just maid it scarier. But we did manich to walk out a few meters from the beach and lie down on our stomachs. So you can say we where bathing... Almost .
Anyway now we are in Kaikoura where we spent the night in a really nice motel. The best this far. And now we're going to jump in the car and drive a few hours to pic up the camper.

Hope I see you soon! Bye!

(I didn't have time to read it through, so sorry if there are any typos or things like that)

Finally WiFi

Hello!
I haven't been posting in days now. We haven't got any wifi. But now here I am in a nice hotel in Wellington and finally some working wifi. We've done lots of stuff since I last wrote you. I'm going to try to tell you about it without writing a bible.

We've started in Auckland in Friday. We drived to a small town called Rotorua. It was a really cozy town, but it didn't smell to good. In Rororua there are hotsprings. And the gas from the springs smelled. A lot. But it was fine.

We stayed in Rotorua for two nights, in a very old and beautiful hotel. The day we came we just went out in the town looking around, eating some food and stuff like that.

The next day we where supposed to go to Hobbiton. A place with a few hobbit houses. You who've seen The Lord of the rings and the hobbit movies will understand what I mean, you others should really see the movies. But anyway, the Hobbiton tour was full boocked, so instead we went on the duck tour. The duck tour is a tour that shows you around in Rotorua. You're driving around in a big car from the Second World War looking a bit like a duck. It can be a boat as well. So we where driving both on land and in water. It was really beautiful in Rotorua and the driver told us a lot about it. When we've finished the tour we went to a grouserystore and bought some food and made ourself a good chicken salad for dinner.

On our way to Napier, the next town we lived in, we stopped in "Oraki Korako" or whatever the name was, It means "the hidden valley". In "the hidden valley" we went on a tour in a forest to see the many hotsprings/geysers and some other stuff too. It was really cool the water was so hot it boiled. There where boiling mud too. There where a few look outs in the forest and there where absoulutley great views from there. I took a lot of pictures. When we where finished looking at the springs/geysers we had a nice picnic before we went back on the road again.

In Napier we stayed in a lovely motel called "the albatross". In the motel there where a pool so Tove and I could finally take a dip. After the dip we went for a late dinner in the very cute town.

Now after another day on the road we've arrived in the capital city, Wellington. And tomorrow we're going to take the ferry to the South Island.

I don't think it's been boring spending a few hours a day in the car. The nature is amazing. It's so beautiful everywhere and I absolutely love it here. You can just sit watch out the window, if your not the one driving of course. And I also had a great book to read all the way.
Unfortunately I've finished the book now. So I'm trying to find a new one. I'm going to read "the fault in our stars" in English. Then I will practice my English even more. The problem is that the book is very popular and where sold out in the only bookshop we've found here. I will have to wait until we've arrived in Christ Church. Maybe it's good. I probably need to lay some time on my homework now. I haven't done so much yet...

I hope I get wifi soon again so I can write some more. Bye! Bye!

Sorry for the typos, the grammar and the missing words in my last post.
I forgot to read it through before I posted it
Hello!
Today in the morning it was raining, a lot. Then it stopped. Then it started raining again. The weather switch very quickly here. One minute it's really warm and the next it's really windy and rainy. You have to be prepared with different clothing.
I know I shouldn't complain when I know how boring the weather are at home and when everything else is great here. Like, all the people are so nice here. Everybody smiles at you and asks you how you are and other nice stuff. It makes me happy.

Today we where at an aquarium called Sea Life, on the other side of the city. We took a bus there and the bus looked like a shark, with teeth and all.
When we got there I couldn't see the aquarium, just a small house. Aperently the aquarium was under ground.
One if the first things we see when we walked in to the aquarium was pinguins. A lot of them. You could see them swimming under water and you could also see them walk on land. They where so cute. But you feel a little sorry for them when they don't have much space to live on,
Next where the jellyfishes. They where small and cute as well, but you got tired of watching them pretty fast. Did you know 97% of a jellyfish is water?
Next there was big ugly fishes and a few very large stingrocks. The stingrocks are very cool. We saw a man working at the aquarium feeding the stingrocks and there where like leaning on him. It looked really cool.
Last but not least where the tank with different fishes and big sharks. The tank went like a tunnel, so you where walking under the fishes and sharks as well. It was a bit scary when a big sharks with their many sharp theeth swimming right abow your head.
I think I liked the pinguins the most of all the animals in the aquarium. I find them fascinating.

The rest of the day we've just been lying in the hotel room. Witch is kind of nice. But tomorrow we'll pick up our car and drive away from Auckland to new places. It will be fun to see something new, but I really like Auckland so it's kind of sad too. I don't really know if I can type that much later. I don't if we'll have wifi later on. I'll guess we'll find out.

Hope you're enjoying school and work at home :P
Bye!

Hey!
Yesterday was my Birthday! I'm 14 years old now!
It was the weirdest birthday. But still okey. I'm going to tell you what happened.

When I woke up about 8am yesterday the first thing I heard was Tove saying "Dad's at the hospital, he has been smashed by a bus.... But he's okay" I thought I heard her wrong, that she was joking or something. I was like "can you repeat that for me please?"  But it was true. Her dad got smashed by a bus. He's very lucky. He's just fine. A few stitches in the back of his head and a night at the hospital and he's back at the hotel, but we're staying here for two extra nights for him to rest. But then we'll be back on the trail.

Today we've been to the sky tower. It was very high. We saw people sky jumping from the top of the tower. It looked scary but still exciting. It was a great view from the tower over the city. I took a lot of pictures. It was really cool.

Now we're at the hotel, just relaxing eating Pringles. We're going to take it slow the rest of the day. Maybe go out shopping a bit. Just order some pizza to the room for dinner. Maybe catch up on some reading and homework.

Tomorrow we're going to Sea Life. Like a museum with fish tanks and stuff like that. I'm looking forward to it.

Bye!

The arrival!

Hello!
Finally we've arrived in Auckland, New Zealand.
It was tough to get here and we're very tired. 24 hours on airplanes and 12 hours on airports is usually not how I wan't to spend my days, but I'm pretty sure our journey is worth it.

We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel we're staying at here in Auckland. It was really weird because of the lefthand driving. The steering wheel was on the wrong side!

Now we're checked in at our hotel, Waldorf. We're living on the 9th floor and we have a really nice view over the city and the sky tower. The rooms are really nice as well.

I've now taken a shower, changed clothes and eaten a sandwich. I'm still very tired but I've charged my batteries a bit and are now ready to go out and explore the town and eat some dinner.

Hope you all are good back at home. Bye!

My New Zeeland-trip

HI!
My name is Linnea Sahlin from grade 7 in Gavsta. I'm going on a big trip to New Zeeland and I'm going to tell you about it. This will be like my homework in english, becuse I'm not  going to be in school for a whole month. My english speaking I´ll be training as well when I talk to the people in New Zeeland. I think I'm going to improve my english alot on this trip. That's at least what I'm hoping fore.
I hope you'll enjoy reading this.

Tomorrow at 4:15 pm I will be sitting on a plane that's going to take me from Stockholm to Copenhagen, from Copenhagen to Shanghai and from Shanghai to my final destination Aukland, New Zeeland. I'll be travelling for almost two days!

I've got a once in a lifetime opportunity to go with one of my best friend and her family to explore New Zeeland. We'll be driving around in a camper, living in campsites and do lots of fun and cool stuff, like swimming with dolphines.

The whole day I've been preparing.
I've packed  most of my bags and I've started to do my homeworks so I know exactly what to do while I'm gone. Soon me and my family will be going in to town for a little last minute shopping and to enjoy a nice last meal together  before I'm leaving tomorrow.

I will writing when ever I've got WiFi.

See ya soon. Bye!
